Whereas the standard Hibiki breaks down in shock over what she's just done, the callous Hibiki simply looks down at her slain opponent witt no remorse, remarking that "This only happened because you are weak". When trying Hibiki out with a friend of mine today we played a bunch of mirror matches where I was using her default red color and the cold persona and he had the blue color Hibiki with her standard personality intact. Interestingly, her quote on the character select screen will also differ, likely to make it easier for the player to know that they've done the input correctly if they wish to play the darker side of Hibiki. If you do kill enough enemies, though, the ending isn't that different, but it shows a distinctly different side of Hibiki as she appears much more callous and seems to be looking forward to more deathly duels, with Amano nowhere to be seen, suggesting that Hibiki has started to embrace the violence and cast away her former trusting self.įor this ending, Hibiki remains alone and talks about improving her swordsmanship and reaching for greater victories with a ominous smirk on her face, suggesting a much more violent path awaiting her in the future. In this ending, Hibiki tells her deceased father when visiting his grave that he needn't worry about her since she's found a companion to help her.
If you make it to the end without killing all of your opponents, Hibiki retains her innocence and allies with Amano, another character from the roster.
Back in The Last Blade 2, Hibiki actually had two different endings depending on how the player performed with her during the arcade route.
